September Migration: Kenya-Tanzania

Kenya's Masai Mara is one of the most famous and popular wildlife reserves in the whole of Africa, best known for its high densities of game, incredible variety of birdlife, 'big skies', open savannahs and perhaps mostly because of the annual wildebeest migration that crosses the great Mara River.

Wildlife photo safaris will take you to this magnificent environment to photograph this once in a lifetime sight of the Great Migration, along with Africa's large predators and the rich diversity of wildlife that inhabits this 1510 km˛ wilderness. For those wishing to capitalize on already being in the heart of East Africa, an optional add-on will take you to neighbouring Tanzania to photograph in the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most spectacular game haunts in Africa, considered by many as the "Eighth Wonder of the World."

The nearly 100 square miles of wide open Crater floor is teeming with animals throughout the year due to the permanent availability of grass and water, and so presents untold photographic opportunities to photograph the huge variety of wildlife and the Big 5 against the simple but dramatic backdrop of the Crater.

Your last stop is Tarangire National Park, inhabited by one of Africa's biggest resident populations of elephant, as well as by migrant herbivores during this, the dry season. Gigantic baobab trees and the topography of the Tarangire River make for another spectacular environment in which to photograph.
